VAS 6154B Diagnostic Interface for VAG ODIS
The VAS 6154B is the latest official diagnostic interface designed for VAG ODIS diagnostic and programming applications. The vas6154b replaces the older VAS 6154A and serves as the modern successor to the VAS 6154 and VAS 5054A dealer diagnostic interfaces.
Developed for professional workshops and technicians, the VAS 6154B diagnostic interface enables reliable communication between the vehicle and diagnostic software, allowing full diagnostics, programming, and module coding through the ODIS (Offboard Diagnostic Information System) platform.
The VAS6154B interface supports a wide range of VAG vehicles, including Volkswagen, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi, SEAT, Škoda, Bentley, and Lamborghini, covering models from 2000 onward, including newer and future vehicle platforms.
As a genuine dealer-level diagnostic interface, the vas6154b is an essential tool for workshops working with VAG vehicles and is fully compatible with ODIS version 10.0.0 and later.
VAS 6154B Features
-
Official VAG diagnostic interface for ODIS diagnostic and programming software
-
Enables fast and stable data transfer between the vehicle and diagnostic equipment
-
Wireless (WLAN) connectivity for flexible workshop use
-
USB connectivity option for reliable wired communication when preferred
-
Infrastructure network mode allowing multiple network-capable diagnostic devices to connect simultaneously
-
Point-to-point wireless connection enabling direct communication between the diagnostic interface and the diagnostic unit
To use the VAS 6154B wireless functionality, a WLAN access point is required. This access point connects the vas6154b interface to other WLAN-enabled workshop devices.
VAS 6154B vs VAS 6154A – What Changed?
The VAS 6154B introduces several changes compared to the previous VAS 6154A diagnostic interface:
-
The VAS 6154/2 Base Station is no longer included with the VAS6154B kit
-
The 7-pin Fischer cable used on the VAS6154A has been replaced with a 9-pin Fischer cable
Currently, the 9-pin Fischer connection is only supported by the Getac S410 (VAS6150F) diagnostic laptop.
Volkswagen does not currently supply an official 9-pin Fischer to USB adapter. To address this, we include a custom 9-pin Fischer to USB adapter in all VAS 6154B bundles, ensuring compatibility with standard diagnostic setups.
For additional flexibility, workshops can also use the VAS6154/12 USB module cable. We offer 3D-printed alternatives to the VAS6154/12 for workshops needing additional connectivity options.
Note: Some VAS6154B units may still carry a VAS6154A label.
VAS 6154B Software Compatibility
The VAS 6154B diagnostic interface is designed to work with ODIS (Offboard Diagnostic Information System) software and complies with the SAE J2534 communication standard.
Using ODIS with the vas6154b, technicians can:
-
Diagnose vehicle systems
-
Program control modules
-
Perform ECU coding and software updates
-
Access repair instructions and technical documentation
The system supports diagnostics for:
-
Volkswagen
-
Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles
-
Audi
-
Škoda
-
SEAT
-
Bentley
-
Lamborghini
Access to vehicle data, repair manuals, wiring diagrams, technical product information, and field actions is available during an active diagnostic session within ODIS.
Please note that diagnostic and programming access requires a valid Volkswagen Group time-based subscription, typically available on an hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or annual basis, along with a valid ORG ID and SecurID Token.
