BMW ICOM Next A Diagnostic Interface
The BMW ICOM Next A is the latest generation BMW ICOM diagnostic interface designed for professional diagnostics, coding, and programming of BMW and MINI vehicles. As the successor to the BMW ICOM A2, the BMW ICOM Next A provides faster start-up times, improved stability, and enhanced performance when used with BMW’s official ISTA diagnostic software. This BMW ICOM diagnostic tool is widely used by independent workshops and specialists who require reliable dealer-level diagnostics for modern BMW vehicles, including BMW i electric models and future platforms.
With the BMW ICOM Next A, workshops can reduce reliance on main dealers by performing advanced diagnostics and repair procedures in-house. To further enhance BMW vehicle data management, the BMW Key Reader can be used as an optional tool alongside the BMW ICOM Next A. The BMW Key Reader is extremely user-friendly — simply place the key on the reader and the device will begin reading the stored data.
The BMW Key Reader operates through the BMW AOS web portal. Please note that a subscription is required to write the service history of a vehicle.

The official diagnostic application used with BMW ICOM interfaces for BMW and MINI vehicles is ISTA (Integrated Service Technical Application). This application can be accessed through the BMW AOS Portal.
